Happy Birthday, Malaysia!

Happy 55th Merdeka Day, Malaysia! Saya Anak Malaysia, Proud to be Malaysian!

Every year this time, my dad will be looking into the storeroom to locate the Jalur Gemilang, which he gonna put it up in front of the house gate to proudly celebrate 31st August.

It's a national holiday on 31st August every year.
Older generation will truly appreciate this day itself, remembering what Malaysia has gone through.
Newer generation will also appreaciate this day itself, as there are countdown events going around.
And of course Fireworks!!!
I used to go into the city with friends to count down for Merdeka day, more like countdown to another holiday, haha!
I used to wake up early to watch the live broadcast of celebrations at Dataran Merdeka.

Every since moving to Oz to chase my dream, I have never felt so Malaysian before.
I realized that I m so so so Malaysian in so many ways.
Despite the negative news I read everyday about my own country, I still and will love Malaysia!!!

Thank u Hitz.fm, Merdeka Spirit in me shooting high!!!

Happy Birthday Malaysia! I will see u soon! Counting down of 75 days....

Lunch @ Flint

Coming into 8 months that I have move to a totally new environment to live on my own.
New Career, New Friends, New City, New weather, all are new for me. When I made the decision, many was very supportive while many said that I was so damn brave and independent. Come to think of it, YES I was that brave to move to Canberra for a new job all by myself.

It was indeed an adventurous start for me, getting to know the new city, the new company, the new friends, everything went very well, I think I might have done a very very good deed in my last life!!!

And so, all these adventures come from getting into such a wonderful company, people from all around the world, Israel, Brazil, Slovakia, China, Singapore, Lithuania, Indonesia, ETC...With such diversify-ness of colleagues, how can u not love it?

Anywaysssss, there was a company lunch being held @ Flint. Food, freeflow wine, freeflow fries, who won't love it! Everyone was so happy during the event! Here goes some photos....

Pork Loin - which I have chosen. The deco of food was fabulous while the taste was so so, many of them had the baramundi which was so so also. But who cares, the Wines were really great!!!
After food, the band started playing, it's unofficial band, haha...
Aya with me, cutie pie!!!

Tom was busy sipping his milk while I kacau him! Haha...

Games after food and drink! Round 1 FIGHT!!!

Peace to more such company event, can't wait for the next one!

Told u that we have such tradition in the company.
Last but not least, a birthday cake as a dessert to end the lunch!
Thank Q for the great lunch!!!!

Happy birthday!!!

There's a tradition in my current company. Whenever someone is having a birthday just around the day that we all have internal training, we will have a cake for spices in the training, haha.

Training was done today but not many of us attended it, me especially didn't as I went for a technical examination related to my work. And I passed it with flying colors, so proud of myself Wakaka! So after finishing the exam, I headed to the training and I was just in time for the cake, everyone told me that I have a very good timing!

Happy birthday to my colleague!

I believe I can fly

Have u heard of the song? I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky! Yesssss, my first flying lesson was completed last Thursday.
Bought a voucher from living social which only costs $99 for an hour lesson. Pretty cheap deal!

Location was an hour drive away from Canberra though, at a place called Goulburn, Oz's first inland city, located between Canberra and Sydney. When we arrived, the instructor came to greet us and damn he looks so cute! Can't wait to go on the flight lesson with him. Yaya, I was so gonna focus on the lesson rather than him, hah!
While waiting for my turn, another instructor was back for lunch and there goes my chance to getting to know a cute guy, wth????

It's only a small plane, that's why it's so cheap lah, only two seated tiny plane...

My instructor took off, wasn't I suppose to do that? I paid money ok? Probably he thinks that woman can't drive a plane? When we were in the sky, I was asked to navigate the plane, surely I said yes lah! The feeling was excited but nervous...haha.

Flew pass the mountain area with a river passing thru them, the view was amazing! Most importantly I got to fly the plane with my own hands!

Though I felt great but I prefer underwater world!!!

Happy Mother's Day 2012

It's so different this year, as I am away from the family 1st time in my life for such a long time, and YES I m still surviving, haha....
Every year, we will normally go out for dinner to celebrate this day but not this year, since I m not around, so I thought of sending them (the mother group? haha) cards, boring right?

SO, something different this time, I have opt to send flowers to them, surprising them with my LOVE.
Did research online, checking many different flower shops online and ended up choosing the best of the best ----> www.love.com.my.

The prices were the cheapest. Though it's my first time using their service, it's fairly simple to choose the item and conclude the order. Chose 3 different kinds of packages, Mum and 2 Aunties. There isn't any delivery charges for KL address and thought it would have some extra delivery charges for another aunt of mine who is living in Kota Kinabalu. No problem on that, once in a blue moon I am doing this, a little charges will be just fine.

1 Day before Mother's Day and I got a call on my OZ number, they called and saying that the delivery charges for KK will be a whooping RM100+, even more than the flowers I have chosen. No way I m going to pay that. They called to ask for permission to charge that to my credit card and I said NO. Order was cancelled, and the other 2 orders were good. I m liking this love.com.my a lot.

The day arrived, and I was rather excited to know what my mum and aunt will react.
Flowers and Chocs for my mum (actually choc for my dad, he loves choc, haha)

Flowers and Wine for my aunt (those are real flowers though they look fake)
Went out for brunch on that day, and was lepaking around in the city with a friend of mine.
Mum whatapps me "Von, I got your flowers, so surprise and they are really nice!", my heart melted, love.com.my did a great job. Sending my love from OZ to KL, amazing. She was very surprised to receive the flowers and was very happy to know that it's from me. What? Am I not caring enough during the normal days? Haha...

Then, I got a missed call from my aunt! Returned her call using Skype, cheaper neh.
She said she was also damn happy to see the gift and didn't think that it's me. What? Again?
Am I loving enough? Anyway, spoke to her for awhile and she is really surprise, my uncle was proud of me too (WTH) saying that the thoughts never came thru, seeing that I m so far away from them.....

But what? I miss my family a lot one, OK?
Love.com.my really did a great job, I will definitely use them again next time.

Happy Mother's Day to the world greatest mum (which is my mum) and the world greatest aunt.

Oh, I got my cuz to buy a bottle of wine for my aunt in KK too, easy measy....haha
